DIVORCE

DIVORCE

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” – Gilda Radner

If you are at the stage in your relationship where you don’t know what to do next, we may be able to help.

As divorce consultants, we provide practical help and emotional support to people struggling with divorce or separation. We will provide you with a safe, confidential and non-judgement environment to discuss your situation and ask questions, which can be as simple as ‘what do I do next?’ It is not just information or answer to your questions, it is a detailed step by step guidance to attain a favourable outcome for you, tailored to your particular situation.

We are not divorce solicitors. Therefore, we cannot provide formal legal advice. However, we can explain legal information and processes. We provide help in completing legal forms. This will save your solicitor’s time and your money. We can help you with practical matters, for example moving home, guidance on property sale or transfer, closing bank accounts, transferring money, budgeting, workable parenting plan with your ex for the benefit of the children.

In short, we can help you with

  • Listening to your story to provide emotional support for your circumstances
  • Providing legal information and options
  • Explaining legal processes
  • Helping create an action plan for your next steps
  • Help you complete legal forms, for example a Form E (Financial Statement) and Expenses Form (Income Needs Schedule)
  • Explain legal jargon in plain English
  • Prepare you for meetings/mediation and/or attending court
  • Accompany you to communicate effectively with your solicitor and your ex
  • Support you with practical and personal non legal issues
  • Provide practical help to implement the financial order

If you both agree to an amicable divorce, we can help you both. We will complete all your paperwork for you from petition to decree absolute. We can help you agree your financial settlements and record them in a legally binding way (consent order or separation agreement). We can also help you to work out contact arrangement with your children and record them in a parenting agreement.

If you believe that you can be benefitted by our services, please contact us for your first free of cost meeting. At the meeting, we will discuss your circumstances and answer any urgent questions you may have. Upon instructions, we will prepare a detailed action plan for you including legal and non-legal issues.

We can provide support even if English is not your first language.
